Laphroaig Four Oak Single Malt Scotch Whisky 100CL

Embark on a sensory journey with Laphroaig Four Oak Single Malt Scotch Whisky, a distinguished expression crafted for the discerning traveller. Housed in a generous 1000ml bottle, this exceptional whisky is a testament to Laphroaig's time-honoured tradition of malting, maturing, and distilling on the rugged shores of Islay. Laphroaig Four Oak begins its maturation in ex-bourbon barrels, imparting a delicate sweetness and vanilla notes. It then undergoes a unique secondary maturation, a portion of the spirit is finished in Oloroso sherry casks, adding layers of dried fruit and spice, while another portion matures in new American oak, introducing a subtle toastiness. The final marriage of these carefully selected casks creates a complex and harmonious dram that is both approachable and profoundly Laphroaig. Upon first pour, Laphroaig Four Oak reveals a rich amber hue. The nose is an inviting medley of peat smoke, intertwined with hints of maritime brine and a whisper of sweet heather. The palate is immediately engaging, offering a smooth entry with classic Laphroaig peat smoke balanced by notes of toffee, rich dark chocolate, and a touch of citrus zest. The influence of the four distinct oak types creates a wonderfully layered experience, culminating in a long, warming finish that lingers with gentle smoke and a satisfying sweetness. This Laphroaig expression is perfect for savouring neat, allowing its intricate character to unfold. It also pairs beautifully with a splash of water to open up its aromatic complexity, or can be enjoyed as the sophisticated base for classic whisky cocktails. Presented in a premium 1000ml format, Laphroaig Four Oak is an ideal travel retail exclusive for those seeking an authentic taste of Islay's renowned peat, presented with unparalleled smoothness and depth.
