Master Blender David McCabe has travelled to source casks from sun-drenched Spanish bodegas and Portuguese quintas to expand Redbreast's sherried flavours.THE WHISKEYThe fifth release in Redbreast's acclaimed Iberian Series. This expression is finished in Moscatel wine casks sourced from the hills of Malaga, Spain, in partnership with the historic Bodegas Quitapenas, family-owned since 1880. These Spanish Moscatel casks are known for their floral aromas with notes of pineapple, peach, and honey. The wine rests in American oak for 24 months before the casks journey to Midleton Distillery, where Redbreast Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey has been finishing in them since 2024.Tasting NotesNose:A fresh and floral balance of zesty fruits with dustings of nutmeg and rich vanilla oak.Taste:Vibrant fruits combined with textured layers of toffee and honeycomb, subtle undertones ofdried herbs, all while the oak remains consistent.Finish:Pot still spices and wine seasoned oak lingering until the very end.ABV: 46%
