唐培裡儂香檳 (Dom Pérignon) 得名於 1668年奧特維爾修道院 (Abbey of Hautvillers) 的著名修道士皮埃爾培裡儂 (Pierre Pérignon)，又名唐培裡儂 (Dom Pérignon)。根據傳說，皮埃爾·佩里尼翁 (Pierre Pérignon) 發現了今天所謂的香檳法。據說，他隨後於1669年將這種方法傳授給本篤會蒂埃里·魯納特(Thierry Ruinart)，後者於1729年創立了第一家歷史悠久的香檳酒莊Ruinart。2019年1 月1日，文森特·查佩龍(Vincent Chaperon) 接替理查德·杰弗羅伊(Richard Geoffroy) 成為唐培裡儂(Dom Pérignon) 的酒窖大師。
