Andersen Winery Elmsfeuer Sparkling Rhubarb Wine

Elmsfeuer is a semi-dry sparkling rhubarb wine. Elmsfeuer is made from Danish rhubarb of the Elmsfeuer variety. In the Nordic climate, Elmsfeuer rhubarb has optimal conditions. The temperature differences between the cool nights and the long bright days give the rhubarb a long ripening period, which develops a fantastic aroma and a completely unique acidity profile. The must is fermented on the pulp at low temperature, after which the wine is fermented a second time in the bottle. Ages for a minimum of 9 months before release. Elmsfeuer is served chilled and is recommended as a different and exquisite aperitif or as a perfect accompaniment to summery salads or dishes with young vegetables, asparagus, fjord shrimp, langoustines, air-dried ham, tapas, and goat cheese.
