Gorgeous and colorful Georgian doors of Ireland’s capital attract people from around the world. Some stories say the colours of the doors were a form of a protest. Ireland got its independence only 100 years ago, 8 centuries of being a subject of the British Empire. So when Queen Victoria passed away it was allegedly decreed that all doors should turn black. Irish people however painted their doors with all possible colours, and surely made a statement.
