Donnafugata verfügt über 3 historische Produktionsstätten in Sizilien. Die alten Familienkeller in Marsala, in der Weinkellerei Contessa Entellina, in Westsizilien und die Weinkellerei Khamma auf Pantelleria, einer Vulkaninsel. Der Name Donnafugata, von "Donna in fuga" (Frau im Flug), stammt aus dem Roman Il Gattopardo und bezieht sich auf die Geschichte einer Königin, die Zuflucht gefunden hat dort wo die Weinberge sich heute befinden. Ein Abenteuer, das auch das Firmenlogo inspirierte.

Donnafugata wurde 1983 von Giacomo Rallo zusammen mit seiner Frau Gabriella in Sizilien gegründet. Heute leitet die fünfte Generation - José und Antonio - ein Team von Menschen, die stark motiviert sind, die Exzellenz von Made in Italy zu repräsentieren. Mit der Ernte 2016 verwirklicht Donnafugata einen Traum, der seit langem gepflegt wird: im Osten Siziliens Weine unter den renommierten Bezeichnungen Ätna, Cerasuolo und Frappato di Vittoria zu produzieren.

Donnafugata was created in Sicily in 1983 by Giacomo Rallo together with his wife Gabriella. Today the fifth generation - José and Antonio - lead a team of people strongly motivated to represent the excellence of Made in Italy. Donnafugata has 3 historic production premises in Sicily. With the 2016 harvest, Donnafugata realizes a dream cultivated for a long time: produce, in eastern Sicily, wines under the prestigious Etna, Cerasuolo and Frappato di Vittoria denominations.

Donnafugata has 3 historic production premises in Sicily. The ancient family cellars in Marsala, in Contessa Entellina winery, in the heart of western Sicily and The Khamma winery on Pantelleria, a volcanic island. The name Donnafugata, which means “donna in fuga” (woman in flight), is taken from the novel Il Gattopardo (The Leopard) and refers to the story of a queen who found refuge where the company's vineyards are located today. An adventure that also inspired the corporate logo.
