MAKER'S MARK is more than 50 years old. Kentucky distiller Bill Samuels, Sr., founder of Maker's Mark, set out to make a better-tasting bourbon whisky. He discovered that if you use winter wheat in the mash instead of the traditional distiller's rye, your bourbon whisky is smoother and less bitter – and that made the difference.

Maker's Mark® Bourbon in its purest form. Bottled at barrel proof and nonchill filtered, Maker's Mark® Cask Strength ranges from 108 to 114 proof depending on the barrels. Surprisingly smooth, this bourbon retains the signature, front-of-the-palate flavors of Maker's Mark® while amping up the vanilla and rich oak notes.

Maker's Mark 46® is the recipe of Bill Samuels Jr., son of founders Bill and Margie, and the first new major expression since classic Maker’s® was released in 1958. Maker’s 46® is aged longer with special seared French oak staves. With subtly layered bourbon notes and balanced complexity.

Never bitter or sharp, Maker's Mark® is made with soft red winter wheat, instead of the usual rye, for a one-of-a-kind, full-flavored bourbon that's easy to drink. To ensure consistency, we rotate every barrel by hand and age our bourbon to taste, not time.
