Possibly our favourite new whiskey of 2014. At this price it represents great value for money. Never mind that there is not an age statement, this is as good, if not better than most 12 year old single malts.

Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey 70cl

We’re the first distillery to open in Dublin city for 125 years, yet whiskey making flows through our family’s veins – over two centuries of it. It’s our deep Dublin distilling roots that give us confidence to do things differently. Dublin distillers, back in the last golden era of Irish whiskey, were made famous by perfecting the use of unmalted barley and triple distillation. The first release from our new distillery pays homage to this famous Dublin style of Irish Whiskey. Our Single Pot is crafted using a recipe of 50% unmalted spring barley and 50% malted barley which is triple distilled and matured in a combination of virgin oak, ex-wine and ex-bourbon barrels. This is not how everyone makes Irish whiskey – it’s our way. That’s the Spirit of Dublin. Nose:Hibiscus flowers, honeycomb, white grape flesh, grapefruit & citrus Taste:Lychees, return of the white grapes, white pepper with warm, roasted peaches & baked biscuits Finish:Dry finish, hints of spice, roasted almonds and maple sugar

This gift pack contains a miniature of Teeling's rum-cask-finished Small Batch blended Whiskey and a small jar to drink it from. The blend is said to contain a high proportion of first-fill bourbon cask whiskey, and a higher-than-normal ratio of malt to grain.

Palate: a balance mix of dry fruits, citrus, vanilla, spice and cloves. Overall: long with sweetness in harmony with dry tannins from the wood.

Small Batch Irish Whiskey 70cl

Teeling Small Batch Irish Whiskey challenges the convention of what an Irish blended whiskey can be. The flagship of Teeling’s Trinity Range, Teeling Small Batch consists of hand selected casks of grain and malt whiskey, initially aged separately in ex-bourbon casks for up to 6 years, and then given further maturation for between 6-9months in ex-rum casks from Central America, imparting a unique dried fruit profile. Like all of our bottlings, this whiskey is bottled at 46% with no chill filtration, completing an Irish Whiskey of true character. Teeling Small Batch was awarded the top prize of “Master” at the Spirits Business Irish Whiskey Masters 2017.

ABV%: 46%Crystal Malt: At Teeling Whiskey we believe in driving the evolution of Irish Whiskey through the creation of unconventional and unique expressions. This limited edition bottling of our Single Malt was crafted by adding Crystal Malt to its mash bill followed by maturation exclusively in Virgin American Oak Barrels. Crystal Malt is made when the sugars that are formed during the traditional malting process are crystallised through extra heat, producing distinct toffee-like flavours in the resulting Whiskey.Tasting Notes:Nose – Green apple, stewed pears, with hints of brown sugar, vanilla and light oak shavings.Taste – A burst of toffee coats the palate, with apple pie and fresh pastries, followed by a honeyed sweetness.Finish - Long luxurious finish with notes of soft cinnamon spice and caramel.
